Who We Are

 
  Benton Heimsath, Co-Founder   Benton Heimsath loves L.A. and Los Feliz and wants more people to be able to live here. He's currently Project Manager at AMCAL Multi-Housing, Inc. where he coordinates the financing and development of over 1,000 units of much-needed affordable and special needs homes in California and Texas.  Previously, he's held positions at HR&A Advisors and LA Department of City Planning. He received a Master of Urban and Regional Planning from UCLA and a BA from UNC-Chapel Hill.  He's a proud member of the Steering Committee of Abundant Housing LA, a volunteer organization that advocates for homes of all types throughout Los Angeles.

  Michael Martin, Co-Founder   Michael is a Los Feliz resident and holds a Masters in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of New Orleans. He formerly served as Executive Director of St. Claude Main Street in New Orleans and at the Department of Housing Preservation and Development at the City of New York. His focus in planning has been to lead open community planning processes that enable those with limited political capital to effect change at a local level.   He is the currently the Head of Communities at SignalFire, an AI-driven, early-stage venture capital fund.  He is also a Co-Founder and Director of Public Policy of Free Machine, a non-profit organization that develops public policy and creative projects to shape a high-tech future that is equitable, abundant and sustainable.
